| Kevin began his racing career in the competitive Toyota Sedan class at Madera Speedway. After just a few years Kevin began to dominate this class. In 1997 he won 6 main events, 4 trophy dashes and captured the Madera Speedway Track Championship in his class. |

In 1997 Kevin destroyed the Toyota track record at Madera Speedway with a 17.91 Second Lap !! This record stood unbroken for 10 Years !! |

In 1998 Kevin moved up to the Modified Super Toyota Class (MST's). Kevin started out quickly in this class, winning 2 main events his first year and finishing 3rd in the points championship. |

In 1997 Kevin and his brother Rick became the only brother team to win 2 Nascar Madera Speedway Track Championships in the same year !! |
Kevin had another great year in the Super Toyota Division in 2000, winning 3 Main Events and finishing 2nd in the Points Championship Race. |

Although Kevin has retired from racing to raise his family, the Thompson family tradition is still alive with Kevin's brother Rick still racing in the Nascar Late Model Division at Madera Speedway. Including Kevin, Rick, and their dad Jerry the Thompsons are the only family to have a member driving at Madera Speedway every year since it opened in 1972 !! |
