| Kevin began his racing career in the competitive Toyota Sedan class at Madera Speedway. After just a few years Kevin began to dominate this class. In 1997 he won 6 main events, 4 trophy dashes and captured the Madera Speedway Track Championship in his class. |
In 1997 Kevin destroyed the Toyota track record at Madera Speedway with a 17.91 Second Lap !! This record stood unbroken for 10 Years !! |

In 1998 Kevin moved up to the Modified Super Toyota Class (MST's). Kevin started out quickly in this class, winning 2 main events his first year and finishing 3rd in the points championship |

In 1997 Kevin and his brother Rick became the only brother team to win 2 Nascar Madera Speedway Track Championships in the same year !! |
| Kevin had another great year in the Super Toyota Division in 2000, winning 3 Main Events and finishing 2nd in the Points Championship Race. |
